““ ... our life-long musical challenge is the pursuit of profound human expression through emotion and imagination.
We are tasked with delivering these feelings by communicating in a universal language, recognised and understood by people throughout the world ... ””

This album is released on the label Grand Empirical and comprises of three Sonatas for Cello and Piano by Schubert, Brahms and Schnittke. The combination of repertoire here demonstrates the tension of the musical language growing slowly through time over differences in styles and periods of composition. The three sonatas presented are from deeply inspired backgrounds and demonstrate a wide range of virtuosity, sound quality and instrumental possibilities for this combination of ensemble.
